A day at Europe’s biggest flea market: over 100 km of stalls, treasures to hunt for and the famous mussels and fries. Early arrival for the best bargains.
Every first weekend of September, Lille turns into a huge open-air market. Antique dealers, second-hand sellers and locals set up their stalls in every street of the centre: old furniture, tableware, vinyl records, toys, clothes, collectibles… There is something for every taste and every budget. Arriving in Lille at 7.30 am, you enjoy the Braderie before the big crowds, when the best finds are made. Between stalls, take a break in Old Lille, on the Grand-Place or at a café terrace, and taste the Braderie tradition: a plate of mussels and fries.

Good to know
- Identity card required: the trip goes to France.
- Lille city centre is closed to vehicles during the Braderie: the coach drops you off and picks you up at a nearby meeting point, given by your driver.
- Be at the meeting point at 6.00 pm sharp: the coach cannot wait.
- Bring cash: many sellers do not accept cards.
- It gets very crowded: keep your bag closed and in front of you.
- Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bag for your purchases. Bulky items travel in the coach’s luggage hold.
